“Don't ever stop trying to make the world a better place.”—Kamala Harris
Happy Friday, y’all!
What a week!
Each Friday I recap how I lived seasonally this week, and I encourage you to do the same. Why? Your life can be so much better if you follow the formula. It’s about putting something on the calendar, experiencing joyful anticipation, and then some happy feelings emerge. Try it!
How I lived seasonally this week (as pictured above):
A candlelit bath to combat the early darkness
Turkey Chili (from Ambitious Kitchen)
Comfort YouTube on Election Day
My favorite breakfast (sourdough, avocado, fried egg, tomato, Cholula sauce) with a book
On to the Fluff Stuff!
🌽 Corduroy Pants Stuff
While I’ve never not had corduroys, it was time to update my styles (corduroys are my winter uniform). I’m now the proud owner of this pair (deep burgundy) and this pair (coal grey). Done.
📚 Fluffy Book of the Week
Now and again, I’ll dabble in Fantasy books. I started reading Heir, by Sabba Tahir, and it’s not grabbing me (ADHD—so the world-building journey can lose me), but I’m going to soldier on (it has great reviews—should I trust the process or DNF?).
📺 Martha Stewart Stuff
I watched the Martha Stewart documentary on Netflix last weekend. Wow. It was like a horror film, watching someone with no heart or soul describe their work, life, and “relationships.” I mean, the woman is a billionaire, so her methods for success (tyrannical perfection) were effective in the business world, until insider trading took her down (which she didn’t seem to think applied to her—gotta love white-collar criminals). After watching the doc, is Stewart a psychopath or sociopath?
“I think imperfection is something that you can deal with.”—Martha Stewart, icily giggling with dead eyes.
🕯️Cozy Lights Stuff
Now that it gets dark early, I’ve ramped up the cozy lights around the house A tour of my lighting setup:
Cozy lighting starter pack: I recommend these star lights, these tapers, and pillar candles.

😮💨 Calm Down Stuff
This soothing meditation on Spotify has done the trick for me this week.
And this meditation is 3 minutes and 30 seconds! Perfect for us ADHD folks.

May you make the world a better place.
May your weekend be fluffy.
🙏💔😭 it’s hard to read right now— even a book I’m loving is a snails pace to get through, and same with my audiobook, I just have to keep going back and relishing to the same parts. My mind keeps wandering and my thoughts keep spiraling. I’ve been texting my friends, a few new ones each day, checking in, venting, remembering how not alone I am after feeling like the whole world pulled the wool over my eyes.
Personally I would DNF Heir if you’re struggling with it right now - you can always return! Fluff shouldn’t involve struggle ☺️ I also have a hard time following world-building and have to be in the exact right place mentally for a book like that. Also, those Loft cords are the exact right price for me right now - so so tempting….
