The Simple Guide to the Masters and How to Enjoy (Watching) Golf
⛳️ Golf adjacent hot tips--books, a playlist, and all the food and drink.
If you’re feeling sad about NCAA basketball being over, have I got a sport for you! Golf.
Hear me out. You don’t need to know a single thing about golf to enjoy watching it. How so?
Last year I published Watching Golf on TV is Like Getting A Free Massage just before the Masters Tournament, and I stand by everything I said. Watching golf on TV is simply the best. You will feel serenity now.1
This year the Masters Tournament is from April 11 to April 14 in August, Georgia, with a mere $18 million in prize money at stake. I usually only watch on Sunday (who has time to watch 4 days?) but I plan on clearing my day to relax on the couch, watch the golf, and achieve zen.
Here is my guide to becoming a Golf Adjacent person.
⛳️ Watch Full Swing on Netflix
As my trivia teammate said last night, “Full Swing is like Drive to Survive, but make it Golf.” Season 2 just began, and it’s even better this year.
It’s got it all. Successful golfers, struggling golfers, WAGS (wives and girlfriends—who seem fickle when their gravy train isn’t winning tournaments—these aren’t love matches, folks), the PGA vs. LIV golf (aka good vs. evil), and very uncomfortable tan lines when the golf polo shirts come off. We’ve got therapists, betrayal, and mullets. I insist you join in on the fun.
Everything But the Golf
I still haven’t grabbed you? How about some golf adjacent lures?
Order the Taste of the Masters dinner kit. Looks like this is sold out—mark your calendars for next year!
